Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Director of Risk to lead enterprise-wide risk management for a large, self-performing heavy civil general contractor.

This role directs insurance, claims, contract risk and loss prevention, partnering with executives to align risk strategy with business objectives. The position requires strong leadership, construction risk expertise, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across operations, legal, finance, and safety to protect assets and optimize total cost

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Law, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7–10+ years of progressive risk management experience in construction or related industry; leadership experience.
Designations such as ARM, CRM, CIC or CPCU are preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
Lead the company’s insurance program across all lines of coverage; manage broker strategy and carrier relationships.
Oversee claims management, loss prevention, and risk transfer strategies; drive data-driven risk mitigation.
Partner with legal, operations, finance, and safety to mitigate contractual risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Foster enterprise-wide risk culture and provide leadership to risk-related teams.
