Job summary

The Seaport Corporation is seeking a General Manager to direct restaurant operations, drive sales, manage payroll, and ensure high standards of sanitation and guest satisfaction. You will lead a diverse team, control costs, and uphold company policies.

This role requires a hands-on leader with 5+ years of restaurant management experience and strong communication skills to coach staff and maintain operational excellence across all areas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant management experience, including as General Manager.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining standards.
• Proficient in food planning, sanitation, security, policies, personnel management, recordkeeping, and reports.
• Strong analytical capabilities including budgetary and financial acumen.
• Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be a skilled leader who inspires, mentors, and drives results.

Responsibilities

• Foster and maintain positive guest relations and resolve complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
• Promote a cooperative working climate to maximize productivity and morale.
• Ensure knowledge of all company policies and procedures; evaluate managers and staff.
• Report revenue and costs; manage costs to stay within budget and ensure timely reporting.
• Oversee payroll; ensure labor costs are accurate and employees are paid on time.
• Maintain a healthy, productive work environment to foster loyalty and dedication.
• Keep VP of Operations informed of issues and take corrective action when needed.
• Complete duties and objectives timely and effectively.
• Maintain favorable relationships with staff to promote morale, productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain low staff turnover and high morale.
• Adhere to standards to increase sales and minimize costs (food, beverage, supplies, labor).
• Ensure admin duties are completed accurately and on time; follow company policies.
• Enforce sanitation, safety, and compliance in all areas of kitchen and dining.
• Be on the floor during service to ensure service standards; guide and train staff; observe guest flow.
• Maintain professional restaurant image, including cleanliness and appearance standards.
• Respond to guest complaints to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests; communicate with kitchen on pace and needs.
• Provide direction on operational issues; oversee hiring, supervision, development, and termination of staff.
• Enforce disciplinary actions when needed; ensure safety laws and policies are followed.
• Maintain flexible schedule to meet business demands.
