Qualifications

• Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in public relations and communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven success in developing and implementing strategic PR and communication plans.
• Exceptional media relations skills with a strong network in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive PR and communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead and manage the PR and communications team, fostering a high-performing environment.
• Oversee media relations, including proactive pitching, journalist relationships, and crisis communication management.
• Manage internal communications to ensure employee engagement and alignment with company messaging.
• Develop and approve all external communications, ensuring brand voice consistency.
• Monitor media coverage and analyze campaign effectiveness with strategic insights.
• Plan and execute PR events, press conferences, and other communication initiatives.
• Act as a key spokesperson when required, representing the organization effectively.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other departments for integrated communication efforts.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in PR and communications.
