Job summary

Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) seeks a Deputy Director of Operations (Business Operations Administrator 2) to lead systems, teams, and strategies supporting Oregon’s children and families. You will join the executive leadership team to translate vision into actionable operations, ensuring coordinated, culturally responsive, family-centered services across the state.

Qualifications

• Seven years of management experience; OR four years of management experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in governmental management and resource stewardship is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Director and executive leadership on agency priorities, policy, operations and strategic planning.
• Oversee the Operations Division, including operational functions, data, IT, and budget planning.
• Monitor progress toward strategic goals and ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
• Supervise operational leaders and foster staff development to align with agency priorities.
• Advance equity, and strengthen engagement with diverse communities across Oregon.
