Job summary

Vertex is seeking an Executive Medical Director, Clinical Development to provide high-level input on clinical development strategies for povetacicept renal programs, in collaboration with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Global Patient Safety, Clinical Operations, Exploratory Development, Commercial, Pharmaceutical Development, Research, Business Development and Marketing.

Qualifications

• MD, DO or equivalent ex-US medical degree.
• 15 years pharmaceutical industry experience, including time managing clinical trials and/or clinical development program(s).
• 7 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical development recommendations to project teams, including optimizing study design and conduct for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oversee medical monitoring of clinical studies.
• Interface with international regulatory authorities in support of development objectives.
• Review study protocols and Investigator Brochures; evaluate safety data.
• Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP and other regulatory requirements.
• May have personnel management responsibilities for assigned staff.
