Arch Insurance North America is seeking an experienced insurance leader to provide strategic direction, management, and leadership for the Surety Underwriting Group. This role is responsible for developing and executing underwriting strategy, achieving business unit objectives, supporting profitable growth, and partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

This position can be performed from any location that is near an Arch Insurance office.

Qualifications

• 15–20+ years of underwriting experience across home office and field environments.
• Strong knowledge of surety products.
• Experience leading high‑performing cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel across North America, up to 35%.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction to maximize underwriting results and strengthen competitive position.
• Partner with stakeholders to achieve business unit goals and support profitable growth.
• Lead ongoing management of the group to meet underwriting and line-of-business goals.
• Evaluate performance, renewals, new business opportunities, trends and ceded reinsurance.
• Represent Arch with customers, agents, and brokers in the marketplace.
• Ensure underwriting products, practices and authority limits comply with regulations.
• Promote underwriting discipline and market execution to sustain growth.
