Job summary

Truist seeks a transformational payments leader to oversee the enterprise Core Payments organization responsible for the bank's ACH and Wire platforms. This executive role blends operational leadership of mission-critical payment infrastructure with driving the long-term modernization of legacy payment capabilities that support the bank's money movement ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of software development and executive technology leadership.
• Experience leading large, global software engineering organizations.
• Expertise in technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and business transformation.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and executes short to midterm operational plans for software engineering, translating strategy into delivery.
• Manages leaders responsible for design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions.
• Implements technology standards, governance, and engineering practices across teams.
• Recommends operational plans and improvements to senior leadership, shaping priorities and resources.
• Develops and coaches technical leaders and managers, building a high-performing engineering culture.
• Owns budget and headcount planning, vendor spend, and investment tradeoffs.
• Leads process and tooling improvements to boost productivity and delivery reliability.
• Ensures risk management and regulatory compliance for software development and deployment.
• Represents the area in forums, communicates status and needs to align teams to decisions.
• Drives organizational change and adoption of new technologies within the area.
