Job summary

Fortegra seeks a strategic Vice President to lead Complex Claims, directing high-severity, major loss, and litigated claims with expert oversight of coverage, litigation, and settlement decisions. This executive role partners with Legal, Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Finance, and external counsel to optimize outcomes, manage risk, and drive performance across the Complex Claims function.

Qualifications

• JD required with 10+ years of progressive commercial casualty claims experience including high-severity litigated claims.
• 7+ years leading complex claims organizations or technical claims teams.
• Experience partnering with internal and external counsel to develop litigation strategy and oversee high-value claims.
• Experience handling CGL, Commercial Auto, Excess Liability, and Professional Liability, incl. NY Labor Law.

• Provide executive leadership and technical expertise for complex claims decisions, coverage analysis, and litigation strategy for high-exposure claims.
• Collaborate with Legal, Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Finance, and Reinsurance to identify trends and improve profitability.
• Oversee a small team of complex claims personnel to ensure productivity and alignment with goals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to claims and minimize risk.
• Provide oversight of outside counsel, forensic experts, and strategic vendors to ensure cost-effective outcomes.
