Job summary

Fortegra in Washington, DC seeks a Vice President of Complex Claims to provide executive leadership for high-severity, litigated claims and set strategic direction. You will oversee coverage analysis, reserve guidance, and litigation management while collaborating with cross-functional leaders and external partners to optimize outcomes and protect financial interests.

Qualifications

• JD required and licensed adjuster.
• 10+ years of commercial casualty claims experience on high-severity, high-exposure litigated claims.
• 7+ years leading complex claims teams or organizations.
• Experience with CGL, Commercial Auto, Excess Liability, and Professional Liability, including NY Labor Law.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for complex claims decisions, coverage analysis, and litigation strategy for high-exposure claims.
• Collaborate with Legal, Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Finance, and Reinsurance to identify trends and improve profitability.
• Oversee a team of complex claims personnel to ensure productivity and alignment with goals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and maintain risk controls.
• Engage outside counsel and vendors to manage litigation and cost-effective outcomes.
• Develop talent within the organization and guide strategic direction.
