Job summary

Fortegra in New Jersey is seeking a Senior Manager, Specialty Claims to lead a General Liability claims team, directing high-exposure litigated claims, coverage analysis, and reserve decisions.

You will serve as a technical claims resource reporting to the VP, Specialty Claims, manage litigation strategy with internal and external counsel, drive performance, partner with underwriting, finance, actuary, and vendors, and mentor a team to deliver cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
• 10+ years of commercial casualty claims handling high-severity litigated claims.
• 5+ years leading complex claims organizations or technical claims teams.
• Experience with NY Labor Law claims and working with external counsel.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical expertise in complex claims decisions, coverage analysis, and settlement authority for NY Labor Law claims.
• Collaborate with Executive Leadership, Legal, Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Finance, and Reinsurance to identify loss trends.
• Oversee a team of Senior Claim Adjusters and ensure productivity and alignment with goals.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and manage outside counsel and vendors for litigation management.
• Provide reserve and settlement authority and develop organizational talent.
