Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking an experienced housekeeping manager to oversee day-to-day operations, enforce standards, and manage budgets across guestrooms and back-of-house areas.

You will lead a team, train staff, ensure safety, and coordinate with hotel leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences. 3+ years in a similar role and strong regulatory knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a housekeeping management role at an inn, hotel, resort or equivalent.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to write contracts, reports, business correspondence, and operations manuals.

Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department. Follows all appropriate policies and procedures (e.g. key control).
• Develops and implements procedures to ensure housekeeping activities meet standards and goals.
• Conducts daily inspections of serviced guestrooms, front of house areas, storage rooms and relevant back of the house areas.
• Manages the departmental budget. Monitors revenue, expenses and labor costs.
• Reports all unsafe conditions; ensures equipment is maintained and used properly.
• Maintains department equipment and supply inventory levels.
• Advises guests, clients and team members on housekeeping matters.
• Participates in the property’s Manager on Duty program as needed.
• Selects, trains, develops, schedules, disciplines staff; demonstrates leadership.
• Provides timely assessments of team members according to policy.
• Maintains safety standards and trains staff on safety procedures.
