Job summary

Zurich North America seeks an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriter Director – Environmental Casualty Underwriter to handle complex environmental accounts. The role may be based in any Western region Zurich office with remote consideration at the hiring manager's discretion.

You will work with a team to underwrite and market environmental casualty business, interact with brokers, and drive growth while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and rules.

Qualifications

• Underwriter or market-facing experience in Environmental Casualty preferred.
• Experience with brokers and agents to grow business.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a team and guide junior staff.
• Knowledge of insurance laws and rating rules is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and customers.
• Provide guidance to lower level associates when needed.
• Seek renewal and new account opportunities.
