Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriter Director – Environmental Casualty Underwriter to join our Specialties Environmental underwriting team. This role may be based in any Zurich office within the Western region, with remote candidates considered.

You will handle complex Environmental Casualty accounts and serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with brokers and internal teams to grow the business while ensuring risk controls and profitability.

Qualifications

• Underwriter level requires 5+ years in underwriting or market facing area, or 10+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• AVP level requires 7+ years in underwriting or market facing area or 14+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, insurance laws, and rating rules.
• Develop and collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business needs.
• May provide guidance to lower level associates.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) to support retention and acquisition and works with customers and distributors to determine their needs and provide solutions.
• Support the sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
