Job summary

State of Colorado seeks an Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Human Services. This role sets strategy, oversees four public-facing offices, and ensures programs meet mission objectives while managing budgets and partnerships.

The Executive Director will lead a large, multi-site organization, align with Governor’s initiatives, and engage diverse stakeholders to improve services for Coloradans across health and human services sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in public administration, social work, public policy, business, law, public health or a related field.
• Ten+ years of senior leadership experience with strategic planning, operations, budget management, and process improvement.
• Five+ years leading social services or DHS service lines and managing large multi-site teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee DHS operations and programs, ensuring alignment with goals and stakeholder expectations.
• Direct and manage the department’s budget and resources within approved plans.
• Lead four public-facing offices and drive organizational strategy and performance.
