The Colorado Department of Human Services seeks an Executive Director to lead the agency as a Cabinet-level official and Chief Executive Officer. You will oversee four public-facing offices, set strategic goals, and ensure delivery of programs in service of Colorado's vulnerable populations.

You will manage a multi-site organization, align policy with Governor’s initiatives, and build high-performing teams while fostering collaboration with external partners and state agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in public administration or related field.
• ≥5 years leading social services in one or more DHS service lines.
• ≥10 years in senior leadership with budgeting and strategy.
• Proven ability to build diverse stakeholder relationships.
• Track record of building high-performing multi-site teams.

Responsabilités

• Oversee DHS operations and programs.
• Ensure successful execution and alignment with goals, Governor’s initiatives and stakeholder expectations.
• Implement and support policy, budgetary and management options for agency requirements and procedures.
• Direct and oversee the department’s budget and fiscal health.
• Build and cultivate a high-performing team across departments and centers.
• Lead the Executive Director's Office, including Financial Services, Operations and Strategy, and Community Partnerships.
• Oversee state units, divisions, living centers, and health institutes under DHS.
• Collaborate with external organizations including county departments and advocacy groups.
• Brief the Governor’s Office on policy issues arising from State and Federal activities.
• Support management of proactive legislative agenda and externally-driven legislation.
