Job summary
CVS Health is seeking an Executive Director of Software Engineering for the Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness (PCW) division to lead modernization of the Retail pharmacy platform and drive strategic engineering initiatives. You will manage multiple product-focused teams and align efforts with enterprise standards.
The role requires deep experience in cloud-native systems, Java microservices, and regulated environments, with a track record of leading complex migrations and delivering scalable software
Qualifications
- 15+ years experience in systems analysis and application program development.
- 12 years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in people leadership.
- Proven experience building and operating cloud-native systems (ideally on GCP) and Java-based microservices.
- Strong background in B2B or B2B2C platforms, experience and APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead modernization and migration efforts in a complex environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Retail pharmacy platform modernization and other strategic initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams of software engineers.
- Develop core capabilities for compliance, regulatory, safety, and operational insight.
- Translate VP-level strategy into roadmaps, backlogs, and execution plans.
- Recruit, develop, and retain engineering and data talent; drive SDLC and data quality.
- Deploy applications into cloud environments – AWS, GCP and Azure.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and software engineers to implement solutions.
- Ensure solutions meet security, auditability, and regulatory standards.
