Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Assistant Vice Chancellor of ServiceFirst Health Affairs Shared Services to lead end-to-end service delivery across HR, Finance & Procurement, Research Administration, and related university services, focusing on reducing duplication, standardizing processes, and delivering a high‑quality customer experience.

The role partners with Deans and administrative leadership to align service delivery with academic and research priorities,

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressive, relevant experience in finance, HR, IT, research administration, or related field, with at least five years in management.
• Master’s degree in business, public administration, or related field.
• Higher education administration experience within the UNC System preferred.
• Experience building and managing a shared services organization delivering finance, HR, and IT services.
• Proven ability to lead large, complex transformational initiatives.
• Experience building high-performance teams with strong employee satisfaction.
• Ability to influence and inspire others to achieve organizational goals.
• Knowledge of productivity improvement and customer-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic planning and change management frameworks.
• Achieve measurable improvements in cost efficiency, service quality, and operational performance.
• Champion a service-first culture prioritizing responsiveness and a high-quality customer experience.
• Own a defined portfolio of schools and units, partnering with Deans and leadership.
• Lead process standardization to eliminate duplicative structures.
