Job summary

JPMorganChase, a global leader in financial services, seeks a Principal Software Engineer within the Commercial & Investment Bank Post Trade Technology. You will drive design, development, and delivery of trusted market-leading technology while ensuring security, resilience, and scalability across portfolios.

You will lead cross-functional technologists and guide AI-enabled engineering practices, contributing to governance, test modernization, and incident triage acceleration at scale.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices (enterprise tools, human-in-the-loop validation, quality gates).
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, governance, data sensitivity, and secure handling.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
• Accountable for decisions influencing resources, budget, and SDLC/tLM automation.
• Sets direction and governance for AI-enabled engineering with guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, and reuse.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value and capacity unlock.
• Governance accountability for coding decisions, cost of ownership, and portfolio operations.
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology.
