Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South seeks an experienced Executive Director of Human Resources to lead the HR team, reporting to the Chief People Officer. This role directs HR operations and service delivery, talent acquisition and onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and total rewards, while supervising and developing the HR staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years leading or supervising an HR team.
• Broad experience across HR operations, employee relations, talent acquisition, and compliance.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with ability to influence leaders.
• Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the HR team and partner with the Chief People Officer to execute people strategy.
• Oversee onboarding, HRIS administration, records management, and employee lifecycle transactions.
• Manage recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and candidate experience across the organization.
• Oversee employee relations, coaching, performance management, and retention initiatives.
• Ensure HR compliance with applicable laws and manage total rewards and leave programs.
• Recruit, supervise, and develop the HR team and provide ongoing feedback and training.
