Executive Director, Robertson County YMCA
Consistent with the Christian mission and Hope for Life Vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the District Executive Director, the Executive Director is responsible for day-to-day operations of the YMCA and must balance fiscal responsibility, staff development/motivation, quality program delivery and facility upkeep, cleanliness and safety to experience success.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; implement character development and the YMCA core values in all programs and all aspects of Center operations.
- Represent the YMCA and maintain appropriate relationships with area organizations, community leaders and businesses.
- Ensure the implementation of Hope for Life key components.
- Coordinate the development and management of Center programs to meet the needs of the community and achieve Association operating objectives.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed in accordance with YMCA of Middle TN policy and all local, state & federal laws.
- Serve as a leader in the annual giving campaign and other fundraising initiatives; direct staff and volunteers on implementation of membership campaigns.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the Center operating budget and meet or exceed budget targets.
- Direct staff and volunteers in the development of program and membership enrollment strategies.
- Participate in special events, activities and meetings, including staff meetings, trainings, and assigned committees as requested.
- Ensure compliance with Association policies and procedures.
- Coordinate management and maintenance of the facility and equipment.
Qualifications
Education / Experience Required:
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Four year college degree in a related field
- Three to five years experience in a director-level YMCA position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Passion, enthusiasm, and support for mission and values of the YMCA with demonstrated community involvement and asset development experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences across different community contexts.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff members.
- Ability to create a culture of serving members and staff within the Centers.
- Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
- Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, and not for profit sector employment policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of compensation administration principles and procedures; mathematical skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, required.
Physical Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is usually minimal to moderate.

- Salary Range: $76,840 - $96,050 (depending on experience)
