Job summary

Elgin Community College seeks an exceptional Senior Director to guide a dynamic, multi-venue arts center. Overseeing a $1.7M portfolio, you’ll lead artistic programming, contract negotiations, marketing strategy, and financial stewardship to ensure mission-aligned, fiscally sustainable operations.

You’ll supervise faculty and staff and foster partnerships with in-residence ensembles and community organizations.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in arts, nonprofit administration, business, or related field.
• Seven+ years of senior leadership in a nonprofit, with budget and supervision responsibilities.
• Proven success in strategic planning, marketing, and achieving goals.
• Experience managing mixed income streams including earned revenue and grants.
• Experience cultivating internal and external partnerships.
• Knowledge of performing arts venue management, marketing, and ticketing systems.
• Familiarity with CBAs and labor requirements.
• Strategic thinking and data-informed decision making.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a $1.7M instructional and auxiliary portfolio and artistic programming.
• Lead contract negotiations, marketing strategy, and financial stewardship.
• Supervise faculty and staff and collaborate with in-residence ensembles and community arts partners.
• Support academic music programs including private lessons and ensembles.
• Develop partnerships with College Foundation and donors.
• Advance equity-minded planning and inclusive programming.
• Balance instructional needs with revenue-generating performance operations.
