Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an Executive Director of Global MEG Operations to design and lead the operational model for medical evidence generation across oncology, hematology, immunology, cardiovascular disease, and neuroscience.

The role leads an organization of about 50 and partners with HR to fill talent gaps, building a scalable, compliant framework distinct from drug development to meet diverse evidence needs. This position reports to the SVP and is central to MEG, MAP & RWE leadership.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in pharma/biotech with drug development and medical study operations.
• 3–5 years in ED-equivalent or enterprise leadership with building/scaling ops.
• Proven ability to build enterprise operational models in global matrixed orgs.
• Deep understanding of drug development processes, GCP, ICH, and regulatory requirements for medical studies.
• Cross-portfolio experience across multiple therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

• Organizational design and capability building (Priority One).
• Own enterprise-wide operational strategy for MEG study execution across full portfolio.
• Define architecture with structure, roles, levels, accountability.
• Architect medical-specific framework distinct from drug development.
• Design adaptable frameworks for interventional, observational, and externally sponsored studies.
• Identify talent gaps and work with HR to address gaps and elevate capability.
• Ensure the model scales with evolving medical portfolio and priorities.
• Governance, compliance & regulatory standards.
• Provide senior oversight across lifecycle, ensuring on-time, within-scope, high quality.
• Oversee CRO and vendor partnerships, aligned to standards and contracts.
• Strategic alignment with MEG leadership and portfolio priorities.
• Champion innovation and digital tools to improve speed and data quality.
