Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation's Perioperative & Procedural Services seeks a Director of Clinical Operations to lead performance improvement, optimize workflows, and drive strategic planning in a complex hospital setting.

The role collaborates with physicians, nursing leaders, department heads, and other stakeholders to deliver excellent clinical services, improve patient outcomes, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, or related field.
• Progressive leadership experience in a hospital or clinical setting (5+ years).
• PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent process improvement certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee performance optimization of work groups and strategic planning for Perioperative & Procedural Services.
• Lead and coordinate major improvement projects with dashboard tracking and KPIs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, and department heads to improve patient care and outcomes.
• Implement and monitor new clinical systems, policies, and standard work.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Joint Commission standards.
• Drive efficiency, quality, and profitability of clinical services.
