Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a senior leader to oversee PeriOperative Services, ensuring regulatory compliance and high reliability across OR, anesthesia, and support functions. The role drives strategic planning, financial stewardship, and cross‑department collaboration in a complex academic medical center environment.

The successful candidate will partner with the Perioperative CAO and Executive Director to optimize OR flow, support physician productivity, and maintain patient safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required).
• Master of Arts or Science.
• 10+ years leadership experience in an academic health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and organizational leadership to multiple nonnursing clinical departments in PeriOperative Services.
• Oversee regulatory readiness, compliance with standards, and state of perpetual readiness.
• Develop short and long range strategic, operating and financial plans to fulfill UPHS mission.
• Direct the PeriOperative Services budget (~$69M) and oversee monthly expense management.
