Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director, Clinical AI to own the enterprise AI clinical portfolio, deliver production-grade AI capabilities, and steer governance and responsible AI. This role will lead a team of data scientists, set strategy with product and engineering, and ensure regulatory compliance across CVS Health businesses.

The position emphasizes shipping, operating, and continuously improving clinical AI at scale, partnering with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• 10+ years analytics/data science/applied AI with ML/DL deployment.
• 5+ years setting AI/ML technical direction across teams.
• 5+ years people management and hiring experience.
• Experience delivering healthcare AI at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on ML lifecycle, evaluation, latency and cost tradeoffs.
• Experience with HIPAA/QA/regulatory constraints in healthcare AI.
• Fluent in Python and SQL; able to guide code/model work.

Responsibilities

• Set AI strategy and goals for the portfolio with product/engineering.
• Shape technical direction and coordinate across squads.
• Ensure alignment with clinical intelligence platform and data foundations.
• Translate regulatory requirements into engineering practices.
• Advance modern AI/ML techniques including LLMs and generative AI.
• Improve model evaluation, monitoring, and clinical validation.
• Drive cost, latency, reliability, and scalability improvements.
• Accelerate time-to-market with reusable patterns and evaluation harnesses.
• Directly manage and develop data science teams.
• Hire and retain top clinical AI talent and leaders.
