Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Lead Director, Clinical AI to drive the AI strategy and lead a team of data scientists across a broad clinical intelligence portfolio. This role partners with product and engineering to ensure scalable, governed AI capabilities that deliver clinically rigorous, evidence-backed insights for multiple CVS Health businesses.

Qualifications

• 10+ years analytics, data science, or applied AI with hands-on ML/DL experience.
• 5+ years directing AI/ML across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• 5+ years of people management with hiring and talent development success.
• Experience delivering healthcare AI/analytics at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on production ML discipline: evaluation, lifecycle, cost, latency, scalability.
• Regulatory constraints including HIPAA/NCQA and governance guidance.
• Fluent in Python and SQL; able to discuss technical strategy with execs.

Responsibilities

• Define AI strategy and set technical goals for the portfolio.
• Shape technical direction across product and engineering squads.
• Ensure AI capabilities fit within the enterprise clinical intelligence platform.
• Align AI use with CVS Health policies, procedures and standards.
• Advance modern AI techniques, including LLMs and generative AI, at scale.
• Improve model evaluation, monitoring, and clinical validation.
• Drive cost, latency, reliability, and scalability in production.
• Accelerate time-to-market for reusable model patterns and frameworks.
• Hire, coach, and retain top clinical AI talent and leaders.
