WA State Department of Corrections is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive behavioral health program for the entire DOC population. The role requires clinical leadership, policy expertise, and collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based care.

Key responsibilities include shaping the model of care, developing statewide plans, and ensuring policy alignment with standards and law.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered psychology license in Washington.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience leading behavioral health programs.
• Experience in correctional or forensic settings preferred.

Responsabilités

• Design and refine the model of care for DOC behavioral health services.
• Develop statewide operational plan for implementation of the model of care.
• Serve as subject matter expert in behavioral health system design for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead policy development for mental health services and protocols (e.g., relevant RCWs and WACs).
• Oversee credentialing and assignment of clinical privileges for behavioral health staff.
