King County’s Department of Community and Human Services seeks a visionary Division Director for Behavioral Health and Recovery (BHRD). You will lead 200+ staff and oversee a broad network of contracted providers, embedding equity and social justice into all programs.

The role requires executive leadership experience in large public health operations, budget stewardship, and guidance to the King County Executive on behavioral health priorities.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience directing large public health/human services operations.
• Executive-level leadership in behavioral health crisis systems, integrated care networks, or similar scale.
• Proven ability to manage substantial budgets and funder engagement.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for BHRD programs and contracts.
• Oversee a broad network of contracted providers and ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Embed Equity, Racial and Social Justice into policies, practices, and operations.
• Lead data-driven decisions using performance data and outcomes measures.
• Foster cross-department collaboration to improve outcomes and streamline operations.
• Represent the division to the County Executive, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
• Direct planning and administration of the division’s $465 million annual budget.
• Lead and develop a high-performing, inclusive workforce of 200+ staff.
