Organization:Threads of Hope dba Woven Dignity (501c3 Non-Profit)

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

About Woven Dignity:

Woven Dignity is a U.S.-based nonprofit supporting refugee women in Beirut, Lebanon. Through creating hand-sewn greeting cards, these refugee women gain economic opportunity, dignity, and hope. The cards are sold primarily in the U.S., with proceeds going directly back to the women and the work that supports them. During the war in Lebanon,Woven Dignity was able to help displaced people. Recently, we have been helping trafficked women, return to their home country.

Position Overview:

Woven Dignity is seeking a mission-minded, entrepreneurial leader to serve as our part-time Executive Director. This individual will be the face and voice of the organization in the U.S., advocating for the refugee women we serve while helping to grow sales, partnerships, and funding streams. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a heart for missions and experience in business, sales, and nonprofit work.

Funding Model:

As a nonprofit, our current business model relies on fundraising through grants and individual donors to invest in staffing and cover operational expenses. While greeting card sales help support our mission, we are not yet financially self-sustaining. The long-term goal is to shift toward generating consistent revenue from product sales, reducing our reliance on outside donations over time. The Executive Director will play a key role in helping us bridge that gap and grow sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Woven Dignity with passion and professionalism to individuals, churches, businesses, and community groups.
  • Lead product sales through events, small group gatherings, and pop-up markets.
  • Network with businesses and organizations to develop commissioned card partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities and engage donors to support organizational growth.
  • Serve as the primary U.S. liaison for the organization, coordinating with international partners and stakeholders.
  • Promote the stories and work of the refugee women through speaking engagements, social media, and donor communications

Qualifications:

  • Deep commitment to the mission of empowering refugee women.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Background in business, sales, nonprofit leadership, or fundraising preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage time and tasks independently.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and representing the organization to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with grant writing, donor engagement, or sales strategy is a plus.

Time Commitment:

Part-time (flexible hours; varies seasonally with events and sale

Job details:

* At this time we anticipate needing your assistance approximately 20 hours a week.

* As with many nonprofits your salary would be based on the grants that you are able to procure.

* You would be considered a contract laborer and would be self-employed on your individual tax return. There will be no benefits. There will be no tax withholdings.

* All work can be done remotely. While the refugees are in Beirut, Lebanon, the board is scattered around the globe and meets via Zoom.

Woven Dignity was founded in October 2020. Our mission is to provide refugee women hope and dignity through sustainable work. The women hand sew greeting cards. Not only do they receive a wage, but also housing benefits and help with medical expenses, etc. Most recently we were able to help displaced people during the war and helping trafficked women, return to their home country.
