Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. seeks a Deputy Athletic Director who will serve as the senior executive administrator and second in command to the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Redlands.

Responsibilities include strategic leadership of athletics operations, budgeting, contracts, HR, sponsorships, and sport supervision, with liaison to internal and external groups and oversight of compliance, sports medicine, and performance areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years in collegiate athletic administration.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse community.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgement.
  • California driver’s license (Class C) required; valid out-of-state license allowed until appointment; obtain CA license within 10 days.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders through regular meetings.
  • Represent the department positively and advocate for the University’s interests.
  • Align operational strategies with development goals with coaches, student-athletes, administration, and conference officials.
  • Oversee athletic sponsorships and community engagement with University Advancement.
  • Manage all contractual agreements with vendors, operators, and visiting institutions.
