Job summary

University of Redlands is seeking a Deputy Athletic Director (Exempt, full-time) to lead athletics operations, budgeting, contracts, sponsorships and strategic initiatives. The role reports to the VPIA and requires evening/weekend hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities include liaising with stakeholders, supervising staff, and guiding policy development while ensuring alignment with university goals. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years in collegiate athletic administration.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Valid California driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Liaises with internal and external stakeholders and represents the department.
• Advocates for the interests of the University and department.
• Collaborates with coaches, student-athletes, administration, and conference officials to align operations.
• Oversees athletic sponsorships and community engagement with University Advancement.
• Manages all contractual agreements with vendors and visiting institutions.
• Engages in multi-year fiscal planning with the VPIA.
