Job summary

University of Redlands seeks a Director of Athletic Facilities to oversee all aspects of facility management for athletics venues, ensuring safety, efficiency, and strategic use of space. The role sits on the Athletic Operations Team and requires evening/weekend hours and potential travel.

The incumbent will manage maintenance, scheduling, budgets, and project planning, collaborating with coaches, staff, and external partners to prioritize projects and maximize facility use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 2-3 years experience working with collegiate athletic facilities.
• A valid California Class C driver’s license with a good driving record; out-of-state licenses valid until appointment and CA license within 10 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility management for University of Redlands Athletics, including maintenance, scheduling and improvements.
• Oversee master facility calendars and scheduling systems (including MUSCO lighting).
• Balance varsity, club sports, intramurals, campus events and external rentals scheduling.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive project management plan for all athletic facilities.
• Collaborate with coaches, staff and external partners to identify facility needs and prioritize projects.
• Manage the budget for facility maintenance and projects ensuring all expenses are within budget.
• Coordinate maintenance, work orders and preventive care with campus facilities office.
• Maintain and train staff on Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) with Sports Medicine.
• Serve as main contact for Event Services and external rentals utilizing athletic facilities.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and quality project completion.
• Ensure facilities comply with safety and accessibility standards.
