Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Director of Executive Compensation to lead total rewards for ministry executives. You will design programs, advise senior leaders, and partner with HR, Legal, and Finance to ensure compliant, competitive pay strategies aligned with the organization's mission.

You will guide risk, oversee budgeting, and support board presentations, while mentoring a team and staying ahead of regulatory changes affecting executive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, management, or accounting is required.
• 7+ years of progressive compensation experience; 2+ years in executive compensation in healthcare preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to influence at executive levels.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and lead cross-functional teams.
• Professional certifications such as CPP/PHR/SPHR are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop compensation programs and policies for ministry executives, including short and long-term incentives and SERP.
• Counsel senior leaders on pay decisions and interpretation of policies with detailed analyses.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition on executive offers and onboarding; support exiting executives as needed.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Tax, and external consultants on compensation matters.
• Ensure compliance with laws and standards; drive cross-functional initiatives affecting pay.
• Lead due diligence and integration work for compensation in M&A activities.
