Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Civil/Highway Engineer to lead design and delivery on Southern California roadway projects, with responsibility for client relationships and project leadership across multiple offices in Los Angeles, Irvine, San Bernardino or Riverside.

This senior role emphasizes mentoring staff, coordinating disciplines, QA/QC, and pursuing new work while managing schedule, budget, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline required.
• Engineer license required; California preferred.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in engineering and civil design.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, and regulations.
• Experience leading civil/highway design projects and PD&E/other delivery types.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of civil, highway, roadway geometric design and plan production.
• Manage projects including schedule, budget, and profitability.
• Lead pursuits and maintain client relationships; staff projects and QA/QC.
• Coordinate with structures, hydraulics, traffic, and utilities.
• Oversee development of plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E).
• Mentor staff and guide multi-discipline teams to deliver quality work.
