Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Civil/Highway Engineer for the Southern California Transportation team. The role supports California projects and can be based in Los Angeles, Irvine, San Bernardino, or Riverside offices.

You will lead civil/highway design, guide the project team, and manage scope, budget, and client relationships on major DOT and municipal projects. You will coordinate with multiple disciplines, mentor staff, and drive QA/QC while pursuing new opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and civil design.
• Engineer license required (California preferred).
• Proficiency in civil engineering principles, design/build, and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Civil/Highway design team and provide mentorship.
• Manage projects including schedule, budget, and profitability; oversee plans, specs, and proposals.
• Lead pursuits and maintain client relationships; staff projects and QA/QC.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (structures, hydraulics, traffic, utilities).
• Prepare Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) and contribute to technical proposals.
