Compass Group USA's CCL Hospitality Group is seeking an Executive Chef for the Union City area to lead daily kitchen operations, recruitment, training and food preparation while ensuring safety, quality and cost controls. The role emphasizes show quality food, menu development, staff empowerment, and client satisfaction, with responsibility for budgeting, labor, and purchasing.

Preferred candidates hold a BA in Culinary Arts and have 10–15 years of culinary leadership, including multi‑unit

Qualifications

• BA in Culinary Arts preferred; candidates with 10-15 years of culinary experience will also be considered.
• Multi-unit leadership — Experience managing up to 2 kitchens simultaneously.
• Financial acumen — Strong budgeting, cost control, and operational leadership.
• 10 years of full-time production and team management experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Must be experienced with computers; MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail and Internet
• Certifications such as CEC or CDM desired

Responsibilities

• Lead daily culinary production, food quality, presentation, safety and sanitation standards.
• Provide direction on menu development; create distinctive specials using seasonal ingredients.
• Monitor produce and meat freshness; ensure purchasing and receiving standards.
• Develop and manage budgets; analyze labor and food costs to meet objectives.
• Lead and train staff; ensure safety procedures and guest satisfaction.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing and cost controls across the kitchen.
