Job summary

Compass Healthcare is seeking an Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, ensuring safety and quality while guiding staff and aligning with corporate programs. This role suits a proactive culinary professional with leadership experience in large-scale foodservice.

Responsibilities include menu planning, standardization, staff training, inventory control, and compliance with health regulations. Strong emphasis on catering, quality, and client satisfaction programs will be essential.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training.
• Extensive catering experience is a plus.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences.
• Hands-on chef experience is a must.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
• Proficiency with computers including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet.
• Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs.

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards; uses production worksheets and waste logs; tastes meals for quality.
• Trains kitchen staff in food prep, safety and equipment operation per standards.
• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and areas; ensures adherence.
• Keeps inventory within guidelines and ensures necessary products are available.
• Decides on leftover food utilization within company guidelines.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations and audits.
• Follows safety policies and participates in meetings and staff development.
