Chartwells Higher Education is recruiting a Chef to lead a dynamic culinary operation on campus. You will oversee kitchen operations and direct meal preparation in line with corporate programs and guidelines.

Qualifications

• AS or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• Knowledge of food trends with focus on quality, sanitation, and presentation.
• Experience with computers; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email and Internet.
• Extensive catering experience a plus.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, and operation of equipment; food safety and sanitation.
• Establishes and maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas.
• Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies within guidelines; ensures product availability.
• Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
