Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Sous Chef for a campus facility, ensuring successful operation of the Culinary Department. You will assist in supervising, preparing, and cooking, developing daily menus, and assisting with ordering.

This is a dynamic opportunity for an energetic culinary professional to lead kitchen functions. You will work with the Executive Chef to develop new menus, oversee cost controls, and execute catering events.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience is required or preferred.
• Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience is desirable.
• Catering experience is a plus.
• Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful.
• Knowledge of food cost controls, sanitation, and presentation is essential.
• Computers proficiency including MS Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with cost controls and budgeting for the account.
• Assist in planning and creating menus.
• Produce and execute catering events.
• Roll out new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary teams.
