Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is seeking an Executive Chef to lead all back-of-house culinary operations for a high-volume acute care hospital. You will oversee patient dining, retail dining, and catering while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.

The role manages about $3.6M in annual volume and a team of five culinary associates, focusing on food quality, safety, and service excellence in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Foodservice Management, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or high-volume settings.
• Knowledge of healthcare foodservice regulations, sanitation, and dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily food production for patient dining, retail café, and hospital catering.
• Develop patient menus in collaboration with Clinical Nutrition and leadership.
• Lead culinary staff, coaching on food preparation, safety, and sanitation.
• Support bedside patient meal delivery programs and patient satisfaction efforts.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and sanitation schedules for kitchen areas.
• Manage food costs, inventories, and budgeting targets.
• Monitor costs, productivity, waste, and operational efficiency.
• Adhere to standardized recipes and quality programs.
• Support retail dining initiatives through menu planning and production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
