Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking an Executive Chef to lead all back-of-house culinary operations for a high-volume acute care hospital. You will oversee patient dining, retail dining services, and catering while ensuring compliance with nutrition standards and food safety regulations.

The role manages a team of five culinary associates, drives menu development in partnership with Clinical Nutrition, and supervises cost controls to meet annual goals.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience
• Knowledge of healthcare foodservice regulations and therapeutic diets
• Experience managing patient dining and large-scale food production

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily food production for patient dining, retail dining services, and hospital catering events
• Develop and execute regular, therapeutic, and modified patient menus in collaboration with Clinical Nutrition and Food Service leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop culinary staff in food preparation, patient meal service, and sanitation protocols
• Partner with leadership to support bedside patient meal delivery programs and patient satisfaction initiatives
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Joint Commission standards
• Establish preventive maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation schedules for kitchen areas and equipment
• Manage inventories, ordering practices, and cost controls to meet budget expectations
• Monitor food costs, labor productivity, waste reduction, and operational efficiencies
• Ensure adherence to standardized recipes and healthcare dining best practices
• Support retail dining initiatives through menu planning and production support
