Job summary

Flik Hospitality, part of Compass Group USA, seeks an Executive Chef for the Ace Team based in Chicagoland to oversee kitchen operations, ensure safety and sanitation, and direct meal preparation according to corporate standards. You will manage accounts, support units in CHICAGOLAND/SUBURBS, and occasional non-local Flik locations with up to 25% travel.

The role requires leadership, high-volume culinary experience, and a hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience.
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences.
• Hands-on chef experience a must.
• Knowledge of food trends, cost controls and presentation.
• Computer literacy including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning, presentation standards; uses production worksheets and waste logs.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safety and sanitation according to standards.
• Establishes cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and areas.
• Maintains inventory to ensure availability of necessary products.
• Decides on utilization of leftovers within company guidelines.
• Complies with health and safety regulations and audits.
• Participates in departmental meetings and staff development.
