Job summary

Cogir Senior Living seeks an experienced Director of Culinary Experience (Executive Chef) to lead dining services across its communities. You will oversee procurement, prep, service, and menu development while managing budgets and staff.

Your role ensures high culinary standards and resident satisfaction. The position requires budgeting acumen, team leadership, and a passion for serving seniors with excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in food preparation.
• 3+ years progressive management as an Executive Chef.
• Serve Safe Manager certification with knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food codes.
• Experience with independent living or senior living is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operations and staffing of the community kitchen and dining venues.
• Manages and supervises all culinary services staff, including scheduling, direction, performance reviews, hiring, and corrective action.
• Menu planning and executing meal preparation and events; assist staff with back- and front-of-house operations as needed.
• Maintain inventory control of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served per company standards and health codes.
• Understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for the culinary services department, including documenting spending.
• Collaborate with staff and residents to plan recipes and menus within monthly budgets.
• Ensure resident and family satisfaction is maintained.
• Plan, prepare, and execute special events and themed meals.
