Job summary

Port Townsend Senior Living by Cogir seeks an experienced Director of Culinary Experience (Executive Chef) to lead the community dining program. You will oversee food procurement, preparation, service, menu development, and budget management while directing kitchen and dining staff.

Applicants with 5+ years in culinary operations, Serve Safe Manager certification, and a proven track record in high-quality resident dining are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in food preparation.
• Minimum 3 years progressive management as Executive Chef.
• Serve Safe Manager certification with understanding of kitchen sanitation and food codes.
• Experience with restaurant openings is a plus.
• Experience with special events and banquets is a plus.
• Strong track record of building teams and meeting financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and staffing.
• Supervise culinary staff including scheduling, direction, and performance.
• Plan menus and execute meal prep and events, assisting staff as needed.
• Maintain inventory control of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served per standards and health codes.
• Understand and manage budgets for the culinary services department.
