Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in the United States seeks an experienced Director of Culinary Experience to lead dining services across its communities. You will manage food procurement, menu development, budgets, staffing, and compliance while ensuring exceptional resident dining.

You will hire and train staff, plan events, and collaborate with residents to tailor menus within monthly budgets, maintaining high safety standards and a resident-focused dining experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; culinary education preferred.
• Serve Safe Manager certification and knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food codes.
• 5+ years cooking experience; 3+ years management as Executive Chef.
• Experience with budget planning and menu development.
• Experience in senior living or hospitality is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operations and staffing of the community kitchen and dining venues.
• Manages culinary services staff (BOH and FOH), including scheduling, direction, performance reviews, hiring, and corrective action.
• Menu planning and execution of meal preparation and events, assisting staff with back-of-house and front-of-house operations.
• Maintain inventory control of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served per company standards and health codes.
• Understand and maintain budgets for culinary services; document monthly food, supplies, and labor spending.
• Collaborate with staff and residents to plan recipes and menus within budget.
• Ensure resident and family member satisfaction is maintained.
• Plan and execute special events and themed meals.
