Job summary

Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland, CA is seeking an Executive Chef/Director of Culinary Services to lead a patient-centered dining program. You will craft artisan menus, mentor staff, ensure dietary compliance, and manage budgets to deliver exceptional experiences for residents and guests.

The ideal candidate has at least five years as an Executive Chef in a senior living setting, strong communication skills, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, culinary degree preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience as Executive Chef in senior living or healthcare.
• Experience in menu development, artisan cuisine and dietary compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead culinary operations with empathy, professionalism and guest focus.
• Design and implement seasonal menus meeting dietary and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee budgets, staffing and training to ensure high-quality service.
• Collaborate with VP of Culinary and other Directors to align with mission.
