Job summary

Transforming Age seeks an Executive Chef/Director of Culinary Services to lead our culinary team in Oakland. The role blends artisan cuisine with leadership, budgeting, and innovative menu development to deliver exceptional dining aligned with our mission.

The ideal candidate has at least five years as an Executive Chef, strong management experience in a senior living setting, and a proven track record in creating guest-focused dining experiences while maintaining regulatory compliance and cost

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Culinary degree from an accredited school preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience as Executive Chef, including administration and management of food service programs.
• Senior living community experience preferred.
• Expertise in artisan cuisine, menu development, and contemporary culinary trends.
• Active knowledge of local health regulations and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead culinary operations with emphasis on guest-centric service and quality.
• Design and implement seasonal menus and ensure dietary compliance.
• Develop budgets and manage costs with fiscal responsibility.
• Collaborate with purveyors to source premium ingredients.
• Mentor staff and promote professional growth through training.
• Ensure cleanliness, presentation, and regulatory compliance.
