Job summary

University of Washington Housing & Food Services in Seattle seeks an Executive Chef, Athletics Performance, to lead the Don James Center Training Table dining operations and provide nutritionally optimal meals for UW athletes.

You will guide culinary teams, coordinate with ICA dietitians, and ensure safety, quality, and cost controls while supporting athlete performance and recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality plus four years of executive chef-level management experience in culinary operations.
• Understanding of dietary restrictions, HAACP guidelines, and food safety.
• Leadership experience in high-volume dining environments and effective staff supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead culinary and service teams with coaching, training and daily operational oversight.
• Oversee daily dining operations, staffing, inventory and cost control.
• Develop and execute high-quality, athlete-focused menus and recipes.
• Train staff in food prep, safety, presentation and quality standards.
• Recruit, onboard and evaluate dining staff; ensure compliance with university standards.
• Utilize CBORD data for menu planning, pricing and inventory reporting.
