Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Enterprise Chief Architect, AWS Platform, to guide cloud strategy and establish architecture standards. You will lead a team of 10–15 architects across cloud, network, and security while remaining hands‑on on critical design decisions.

You’ll oversee multi‑account AWS environments, secure hybrid connectivity, and IaC adoption using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK to deliver scalable, compliant solutions. Remote US‑based role with competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Infrastructure, Cloud, Networking, and Enterprise Architecture experience.
• 8+ years of AWS architecture, cloud transformation, and technical leadership.
• Proven experience at Principal/Lead/Chief Architect level.
• Experience leading teams of 10+ Architects in global delivery.
• Strong executive presence with engagement of C‑level leaders and ARBs.
• Deep expertise across AWS Networking, Security, Infrastructure, Automation, Governance, Resilience.
• Hands‑on with enterprise‑scale AWS networking: Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK.
• Cloud governance programs and guardrails across large AWS environments.
• Experience governing multi‑account, multi‑region AWS environments.
• Experience driving modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
• At least one AWS certification (Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking, Security, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for AWS Infrastructure Delivery and Cloud Transformation.
• Advise executives and ARBs on cloud strategy, security, governance, and investments.
• Lead and develop a 10–15 person team of Cloud, Network, and Security Architects (onsite/offshore).
• Establish architecture standards, reusable patterns, and AWS best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews, validate designs, and guide implementation decisions.
• Architect and govern multi‑account, multi‑region AWS environments.
• Design advanced networking architectures using Transit Gateway, VPCs, PrivateLink, and Route 53.
• Define secure hybrid connectivity with Direct Connect and VPN; manage BGP routing.
• Drive security governance with SCPs, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Config.
• Promote IaC adoption with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK; enable deployment governance.
• Collaborate with AWS and partners to align technology with business goals.
