Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Enterprise Chief Architect, AWS Platform, to shape cloud strategy and establish architecture standards for large-scale transformations. You will lead and mentor a team of senior architects across Cloud, Network, and Security while remaining hands-on in critical design decisions.

You will partner with executive stakeholders and Architecture Review Boards to de-risk investments and drive secure, scalable cloud solutions across multi-account, multi-region environments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Infrastructure, Cloud, Networking, and Enterprise Architecture experience.
• 8+ years of AWS architecture, cloud transformation, and technical leadership experience.
• Proven experience at Principal/Lead/Chief Architect level.
• Experience leading teams of 10+ Architects in global delivery.
• Executive engagement with C-level stakeholders and ARBs.
• Deep expertise in AWS Networking, Security, Infrastructure, Automation, Governance, and Resilience.
• Hands-on design of enterprise-scale AWS networking (Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, PrivateLink, BGP).
• Experience IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK.
• Cloud governance programs, guardrails, and operating models for large AWS environments.
• Multi-account, multi-region AWS governance and modernization initiatives.
• One current AWS certification; additional AWS certifications valued.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for AWS Infrastructure Delivery and Cloud Transformation.
• Advise executive stakeholders and ARBs on cloud strategy, governance, and risk management.
• Lead and develop 10–15 architects across onsite and offshore delivery teams.
• Establish enterprise architecture standards, governance, reusable patterns, and AWS best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and guide strategic implementation decisions.
• Architect and govern multi-account, multi-region AWS environments.
• Define secure hybrid-cloud connectivity strategies and network architectures.
• Drive security governance using SCPs, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Config.
• Drive IaC adoption and deployment governance with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK.
• Lead migration, refactoring, modernization, and platform engineering across ECS, EKS, Fargate.
• Create architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, and governance documentation.
• Collaborate with AWS, vendors, and customer stakeholders to align technology with business goals.
